New Initiatives To Raise The Quality Of Adult Education
SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will implement three new initiatives that will uplift the overall quality of the Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector, and boost the development of TAE professionals. Announced by the Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Education, Mr Chee Hong Tat, at the 7th Adult Learning Symposium today, the suite of initiatives includes (1) a new Skills Framework for TAE, (2) an Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) training programme offered by the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), and (3) the extension of mandatory requirements for Adult Educators (AEs) to non-WSQ training providers offering certifiable programmes that are funded by SSG.

New Advanced Manufacturing Continuing Education And Training Strategy To Prepare The Workforce For Industry 4.0
The new Advanced Manufacturing (AM) continuing education and training (CET) strategy comprises key initiatives that cover talent attraction, retention and skills development to ensure a skilled and ready Singapore AM workforce. The AM CET strategy is developed by SSG in consultation with lead agencies, industry partners, unions, and education and training providers.
Mr Wong Kim Yin Appointed As New Chairman Of SkillsFuture Singapore Board
Mr Wong Kim Yin, Group Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Power Ltd, will be appointed the Chairman of the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Board with effect from 1 October 2018. He will take over from Mr Tan Pheng Hock, who will retire from the Board on 30 September 2018.
Top Young Skilled Singaporeans Set To Shine At WorldSkills Asean 2018 Competition
Singapore will be sending 40 highly skilled youths from the polytechnics and ITE to compete in 20 skills areas at the upcoming 12th WorldSkills ASEAN 2018 Competition in Bangkok, Thailand from 31 August to 2 September 2018.
