The SkillsFuture Fellowships And SkillsFuture Employer Awards Are Open For Application From 20 December 2016
The SkillsFuture Fellowships and the SkillsFuture Employer Awards are now open for application. SkillsFuture Singapore announced that individuals and employers who meet the pre-requisites can submit their nominations by 30 April 2017 through the SkillsFuture website at www.skillsfuture.sg from 20 December 2016.

Transforming The Hotel Industry For Sustainable Growth
The Hotel Industry Transformation Map (ITM) was launched today by Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry).
Four strategies were identified to transform the hotel industry for sustainable growth. They are: building manpower-lean business models; developing new solutions through innovation; growing businesses through internationalisation; and building a strong pipeline of quality talent.

Food Manufacturing Industry Transformation Map To Develop Singapore Into Asia’s Leading Food And Nutrition Hub
Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and Culture, Community and Youth launched the Food Manufacturing Industry Transformation Map (ITM) today at the inaugural Food Innovation Product Award Ceremony. With the vision to develop Singapore into the leading food and nutrition hub in Asia with globally-competitive food companies, the ITM strives to catalyse a compound annual growth rate of 4.5% in productivity and create some 2,000 new Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMET) jobs for the Food Manufacturing industry, from now till 2020.

Logistics Industry Transformation Map To Strengthen Singapore’s Position As a Globally Leading Logistics Hub
Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), launched the Logistics Industry Transformation Map (ITM) today at the groundbreaking of JTC’s Logistics Hub @ Gul. Developed by a multi-agency team which includes International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore), JTC Corporation (JTC), SPRING Singapore, Workforce Singapore (WSG) and led by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the Logistics ITM maps out strategies that will reinforce Singapore’s position as a globally leading logistics hub through operations excellence, innovation and a strong Singaporean core. Transformation of the industry is expected to achieve a value-add of S$8.3 billion and introduce 2,000 new PMET jobs by 2020.

Two-Week Lifelong Learning Festival To Inspire Lifelong Learning Led By The Community With The Community
For the first time, the Lifelong Learning Festival 2016 (LLF 2016), will be held over a two-week period with a range of activities planned across the island. The festival is aimed at building a culture of lifelong learning in support of the SkillsFuture Movement. With the theme "Every Day A Learning Day; By the community, with the community", the Festival will highlight the community as important champions of lifelong learning in encouraging a culture where Singaporeans actively seek out opportunities to learn, empowered and enabled by resources available within their communities.

SkillsFuture Fellowships And SkillsFuture Employer Awards To Be Launched In Mid-December 2016
Two new SkillsFuture Awards, the SkillsFuture Fellowships and the SkillsFuture Employer Awards, will be available for application from Mid-December 2016 to recognise individuals who have developed skills mastery and employers who are exemplary in investing in their employees’ skills development respectively. This was announced by Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills), at the kick-off event for the two-week long Lifelong Learning Festival 2016 today.
