Mr Lim Swee Say, Minister for Manpower, announced the launch of the Retail Sectoral Manpower Plan (SMP) today. Developed by SPRING Singapore and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) in consultation with industry stakeholders and unions, the Retail SMP builds a future-ready retail workforce with the skills required to support the sector’s transformation. Roll-Out Of SkillsFuture Earn And Learn Programme For The Infocomm Sector

The SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme for Software Development developed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency with Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) for the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, has seen positive interest with a total of 27 polytechnic graduates from Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, participating in the first run of the programme.

IE Singapore Extends Overseas Internship Opportunities Under Young Talent Programme To Polytechnic Students

International Enterprise (IE) Singapore signed five MOUs today, extending overseas internship opportunities under the Young Talent Programme (YTP) - Market Immersion programme to students of all five polytechnics in Singapore. An initiative under the national SkillsFuture movement, the programme will enable students of Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic to gain global exposure with local and international companies. The programme, which was previously only available to university students1, have supported over 1,400 students in gaining overseas exposure since 2013.

SkillsFuture Credit Course Directory Is Now Ready

Starting today, Singaporeans can access the SkillsFuture Credit course directory to explore the list of skills-based courses which will be eligible for SkillsFuture Credit. The directory is part of the eventual SkillsFuture Credit portal, which will be ready for use from 1 January 2016.
