Driving Workforce Transformation with Food Services Sectoral Manpower Plan

Mr S. Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), launched the Food Services Sectoral Manpower Plan (SMP) today. Developed by SPRING Singapore (SPRING) and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) in consultation with industry stakeholders and unions, the five-year SMP contains strategies and initiatives to make every job better, reduce reliance on manual labour and build skills for local workers to progress in the Food Services sector.

Formation Of The Council For Skills, Innovation And Productivity

A tripartite Council for Skills, Innovation and Productivity (CSIP) will be established with effect from 20 May 2016, to take forward the efforts undertaken to date by the SkillsFuture Council and the National Productivity Council (NPC). The CSIP will also develop and implement the Industry Transformation Maps announced in Budget 2016.
