Precision Engineering Industry Transformation Map To Pave The Way For Digital Manufacturing

Mr. S Iswaran, Minister for Trade & Industry (Industry) launched the Precision Engineering Industry Transformation Map (ITM) today at Meiban, a local Precision Engineering company. Led by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the ITM is the first industry-specific roadmap to be rolled out for the manufacturing sectors. The PE ITM has identified new growth areas that will take Singapore into the future era of manufacturing and create 3,000 PMET jobs by 2020. Through the strategies outlined in the PE ITM, the industry’s Value Added is envisaged to grow from S$8.8 billion in 2014 to S$14 billion by 2020.

New Manpower Plan Unveiled To Create More Rewarding Careers For Early Childhood Educators

A new Early Childhood Manpower Plan was announced today by Minister for Social and Family Development, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, at the Early Childhood Conference 2016. Hotel Industry Set To Transform With New Manpower And Skills Development Initiatives

The hotel industry can now boost its skills development efforts and talent pipeline with the launch of two new initiatives – the Professional Conversion Programme for Professional Executives and the Skills Framework for Hotel and Accommodation Services (HAS). These two initiatives were launched by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) at the Hotel Day today to create greater awareness of exciting job opportunities and career progression pathways in the Hotel sector and equip the workforce with relevant and emerging skills to support the transformation of the hotel industry.

SkillsFuture Study Awards Opens For Persons With Disabilities And Disability Employment Professionals

Persons with disabilities and disability employment professionals can now apply for the SkillsFuture Study Awards through SG Enable. The study awards support early to mid-career Singapore Citizens in developing and deepening skills in economic growth sectors or areas of demand. Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister for Social and Family Development, announced that two new categories of the study awards are open for applications during the SG Enable Training and Career Fair 2016 held at the Enabling Village.
