SkillsFuture Jobs-Skills Insights (SFJSI) is a publication that spotlights high-tempo jobs and skills changes within specific sectors or economies to keep citizens and enterprises updated. ​



A Practical Approach for SMEs to Adopt i4.0 and Upskill the Workforce

This publication of SkillsFuture Jobs-Skills Insights looks into the adoption of Industry 4.0 by companies, especially the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the skills needed by the workforce to do so. It features three industry Proof-of-Concept (POC) projects conducted by one of the SkillsFuture Queen Bees - Bosch Rexroth Regional Training Centre (BRRTC). The key insights are:

1. A combination of digital and i4.0 skills are needed to adopt new technology, in areas such as preventive maintenance, process management and inventory management.

2. Highly transferable sustainability skills and critical core skills are important for the manufacturing sector.

3. Call to action - programmes are available to help companies and workers upskill in these areas.
