SkillsFuture Work-Study Programme Shows Good Progress And Expands Its Reach With New Offerings In 2021
SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), in partnership with the Institutes of
Higher Learning (IHLs), will launch three more work-study programmes in
2021 and one in early 2022, bringing the total number of such programmes
to 187. This builds on the good progress of the SkillsFuture Work-Study
Programme, which has expanded to 37 sectors and benefited over 7,000
individuals and more than 1,600 companies since its launch in 2015. This
was announced by Second Minister for Education, Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin
Osman at the SkillsFuture Work-Study Fair today, as part of SkillsFuture
Month 2021.
The SkillsFuture Work-Study Fair showcased work-study opportunities for
fresh and recent graduates, as well as the strong industry partnerships
that underpin the work-study ecosystem. Students could also participate
in webinars jointly curated with industry partners to better understand
how they could build their skills and develop a career in the sector of
their choice.
Expansion of SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes
To provide Singaporeans with an alternative upgrading pathway
and to help employers meet their manpower needs, SSG has been working
with the IHLs to roll out new work-study programmes.

first is the Work-Study Post-Diploma (Specialist Diploma in
