$120,000 SkillsFuture Study Awards For Persons With Disabilities And Disability Employment Professionals

A total of $120,000 in SkillsFuture Study Awards has been awarded to 22 persons with disabilities and 2 disability employment professionals to support them in acquiring new skills through a variety of training opportunities, including professional training courses, specialist diplomas, and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

As part of the national SkillsFuture movement, SG Enable launched two categories of SkillsFuture Study Awards in September 2016:

  1. Persons with Disabilities – for persons with disabilities who have demonstrated resilience and perseverance to upskill and develop themselves. Through this study award, they can develop and deepen their skillsets to access wider employment options. 22 individuals have received this award to date. They come from a wide diversity of backgrounds and occupations, with job functions such as Laboratory Officer, Senior User Experience Designer, Clinical Assistant, Director etc.
  2. Disability Employment Professionals – for those who play a pivotal role in supporting persons with disabilities throughout the process of employment and sustaining their jobs. The professionals could deepen their skills to better assist persons with disabilities and employers. 2 individuals have received this award to date.
