COS Highlights 2026

During the Committee of Supply Debate 2026, the following key announcements were delivered:

Enhancement of Support for AI Upskilling

  • To help workers assess their AI readiness level and training needs, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will develop a self-diagnostic AI readiness tool that can be accessed via the MySkillsFuture (MySF) portal, by 2Q 2026.
  • The self-diagnostic tool will allow users to gauge their AI readiness level and be directed to relevant course recommendations.
  • SSG will also work with its industry partners to improve AI awareness and adoption of AI solutions and training among SMEs.

Expansion of SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme (SFLP) Course Catalogue

  • To provide more options for mid-career Singaporean learners, the SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme course catalogue will be expanded to include around 200 Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) full qualification courses, from 4Q 2026.
  • The courses cover a wide range of sectors such as Healthcare, Information and Communications, Engineering, Media and Early Childhood.

MySkillsFuture (MySF) Portal Enhancements

  • SSG will launch a revamped MySF portal in 2Q 2026 to provide more customised user experience and encourage industry-relevant upskilling.
  • The new course search experience will include curated recommendations for in-demand skills areas, AI-powered chatbot for personalised guidance and occupation-based course exploration tools.
  • Learners can also expect a more seamless course enrolment process using pre-filled Singpass information to enrol directly in courses via the MySF portal.

SkillsFuture Workforce Development Grant Enhancements

  • The  encourages comprehensive workforce transformation. It offers enhanced support for job redesign through three key components: workforce consultancy, capability building initiatives and workforce tech solutions.

Enhancements to ITE's Work Study Diploma Employer Incentives

  • The quantum of the incentive for ITE Work-Study Diploma employer partners will be increased from $15,000 to $20,000 per eligible trainee for new cohorts, from April 2026.
  • The new $20,000 incentive will be fully disbursed at several milestones throughout the course duration, simplifying the process.
