What Is it?
The Skills Framework (SFw) for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is a guide for individuals, employers and training providers to promote skills mastery and lifelong learning in the ECCE sector. It is jointly developed by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), together with early childhood (EC) educators, employers, training providers, associations and unions. The SFw for ECCE supports the SkillsFuture movement by providing a common reference for skills and competencies required in ECCE sector to help individuals make informed decision on skills development, employers to recognise skills and invest in skills training for their employees, and training providers to design programmes that address the sector's manpower and skills needs.
Who Is It For?
Individuals with the passion and interest to pursue a career in the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) sector, and/or who are in-service EC educators.
Employers in the ECCE sector who would like to identify emerging skills and build new capabilities, recognise their employees' skills and invest in skills training for them, and/or strengthen their organisational capability and enhance talent attraction, management and retention.
Training providers who are looking to gain better insights into sector trends, and existing and emerging skills in demand, as well as design programmes that address the ECCE sector's manpower and skills needs.
How Does It Work?
The Skills Framework (SFw) for Early Childhood Care and Education provides key information such as sector outlook and employment landscape, workforce profiles, career pathways, and desired skills set of each identified job role so as to guide you in your decision in becoming or progressing as an EC educator in this sector.

This section provides information on the SFw for ECCE, including why quality ECCE is important, and opportunities for individuals who are interested in joining, or currently in the sector.

The Career Pathways show how the occupations in the SF for ECCE are structured progressively and laterally.
(iii) Skills Map and Skills Standards
The Skills Map details the skills for each of the ECCE occupations, aligned to the three tracks (Educarer, Teacher and Leader). It provides information such as occupation descriptions and skills.
