Singapore Supports Innovative Enterprises To Go Global

Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Chan Chun Sing, today announced the launch of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore’s (IPOS) subsidiary – IPOS International – at the opening ceremony of IP Week @ SG 2019. The new entity, built on deep expertise and extensive networks established over the years within the IPOS Group, will support enterprises and industries for business growth through the commercialisation of their intangible assets (IA) and intellectual property (IP). Singapore’s first Skills Framework for IP – a world first – was also launched at the two-day conference which attracted more than 3,500 participants from over 45 countries. Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with five other IP Offices and an overseas media organisation will be inked, bridging the innovation ecosystems with the international communities and supporting the translation of ideas and IP into products and services.

Largest Contingent to Represent Singapore at the 45th WorldSkills Competition in Kazan, Russia

Singapore will field a team of 32 highly skilled youths from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), the five polytechnics and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to compete at the upcoming 45th WorldSkills Competition (WSC) in Kazan, Russia from 22 to 27 August 2019.

More Support for Singaporeans and Enterprises to be Prepared for the Digital Economy

There are two new measures by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to better prepare Singaporeans and enterprises for the digital economy, i.e. a new collaboration between SSG and Microsoft, and enhancements to the national SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace programme. These were announced by Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Communications and Information, Dr Janil Puthucheary at the inaugural SkillsFuture Festival X Smart Nation (SFFXSmart Nation) today.

Enhanced MySkillsFuture Portal To Provide Personalised Recommendations To Guide Singaporeans Towards Achieving Career And Skills Goals

The enhanced MySkillsFuture portal will feature personalised recommendations for Singaporeans on courses and content which are relevant to helping them achieve their learning and career goals. This was announced at the third SkillsFuture Fellowships and SkillsFuture Employer Awards Ceremony, where 28 individuals and 32 employers (10 SMEs, and 22 non-SMEs) were recognised for their commitment and exemplary support for skills development and mastery, and lifelong learning. The awards were presented by the Patron for both awards, President Halimah Yacob.
